Cross one knitting goal off the list!

Back in January, I decided that this was going to be the year that I learned how to do entrelac. After experimenting with some Garterlac Dishcloths, I moved on to what was the original goal of learning entrelac in the first place, making a ring bearer pillow for my sister's wedding, which I largely based on this pattern. I only have half of it done, but I feel like I can say I know how to do entrelac now, so I felt the need to show it off:

The yarns are Lion Brand Microspun and Patons Brilliant, which I think are working out well together. Now I just have to knit the other half of the pillow. Don't worry; the wedding's not until August!

You did a great job for your first try!

I just downloaded a "how-to", there's a jacket from Sarah James that's done with enterlac that I want to knit.

Any word of advice you can offer another first timer?

It's gorgeous! Love the subtle sparkles here and there.

Wow, yours turned out much nicer than mine. (Although, that could have something to do with me getting lost on the pattern while trying to knit during high tea with a bunch of other knitters, rather than concentrating on a new technique....or, maybe my knitting mojo just isn't as strong as yours) ;-)
Congrats! Well done, that knitter!

I am contemplating knitting the Tartan jacket from the 2004 Interweave Knits, so I googled the project and found your blog! How is it coming along? I'm a little scared by all the color changes, but would the jacket look weird in one solid color? What are your thoughts about the pattern in general? Can you please e-mail me at mel [at] taffystay [dot] com? I'm trying to find something fun to knit (my last big project was Starsky from knitty.com), and sweater weather is fast approaching! :) Thanks!

I WAS CURIOUS TO KNOW IF YOU DO ANY KNITTING FOR OTHER FOLKS. I AM LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO KNIT A SIMPLE BEANIE TYPE BABY HAT FOR MY 6 MONTHS TWINS.
